Alberta Auto Insurance
We work to find you the best auto insurance options for your situation.
How do we determine what auto insurance is right for you? We ask questions about you, your vehicle, your driving record (including any accidents or charges), your credit record, and your expectations in the event of a claim. The more we know about you and your needs, the better options we can find. The right company or coverage package for one driver may not be the right one for another. We have access to many insurance markets for auto insurance clients. And it’s our job to the right insurance option for you.
DCPD
The Direct Compensation Property Damage system in now in place for Auto Insurance in Alberta. As your trusted insurance broker, we want you to know:
- This new system doesn’t change your current auto insurance policy at all – only how claims are processed.
- You don’t have to do a thing.

Liability Insurance
Think of this as your insurance for the things that could happen to other people or other people’s property. That’s why it’s sometimes called Public Liability and Property Damage or third-party liability. And that’s why it’s mandatory.
In Alberta, the minimum requirement for auto insurance is $200,000 liability insurance. If you’re looking for the minimum coverage possible, we aren’t who you should be working with. And you should probably just talk directly to an insurance company yourself.
Professional brokerages like ours understand that carrying only the minimum liability coverage is not in the best interest of anyone. Advice is the biggest part of our value and we could never advise someone to make that decision. In fact, our basic liability insurance option always includes both accidental benefits coverage and family protection because they just make sense.
Coverage options to consider when putting together your auto insurance package
If you want to be able to walk away from a collision and not worry about the damage done to you or your car, you need collision insurance. If you want to not worry about how you’re going to pay to fix damage to your car from vandalism, fire, hail or theft, you need comprehensive insurance. If you rent cars or drive vehicles other than your own often, you'll probably want non-owned auto insurance.
The truth is, there are many insurance options available to you and that’s where we come in. We translate the insurance speak into real life scenarios to see what you need and then we shop the insurance marketplace to find the right coverage at the best price.
Your auto insurance rate explained
It might seem random at times – especially with all the legislative changes regarding auto insurance in Alberta – but your rate is determined by four things:
- Your sex and age
- Your vehicle choice
- Your driving and insurance history
- Your location (different communities can have different ratings)
Once you understand what impacts your rates, you can see that the best way to control your insurance costs is by keeping a clean driving record and good insurance history.
Leasing or financing? Your insurance options are determined for you
Before you decide to lease or finance a vehicle, you should talk to us. Often, when you’re shopping for a vehicle, you’re only thinking about what monthly vehicle payment you can afford. But every lease or finance agreement requires very specific coverage types and levels that you can’t opt out of. And the cost to insure one vehicle or another can be very, very different.
For example, you might be able to afford the monthly payments on that 2020 Mini but can you afford the full liability, collision and comprehensive insurance payments the financing company requires too?
